Sugery update
Greetings -

Thanks SO MUCH for the good wishes! Patrick's surgery seemed to go well, though it went over an hour longer than expected, so not quite sure why. The break was actually a fracture in his humerus (insert joke), so they realigned it and put some pins in. He was quite woozy and sporting some impressive medical bondage gear to keep everything isolated this evening. I'm headed back up in the morning, so hopefully can talk to a doc and get a detailed scoop on details and recovery.

Again, giant hugs and thanks to everyone for nice notes! You have no idea how comforting it is (for both of us!)

Gratefully - Karin

so we can start teasing him about his injury

please be sure to tell us when he has recovered enough for the taunting to begin

Absolutely. Well-timed taunting is essential to the recovery process. I'm figuring pretty much as soon as the drugs are decreased enough so he has faster than a 3 or 4-second response time, the game is ON. :) - Karin

That made my toes go numb just imagining it. ARGH!

Tell Patrick that one-handed typing is a skill we all learned as teenagers that I'm sure he'll easily recall... And if he's offended, tell him someone else said it. haha

Get better! And have fun setting off the security alarms with those pins when you try to take your next flight!

Get better. And...

LISTEN TO YOUR PHYSICAL THERAPIST.

Seriously. BTDT with my DH. Luckily, Patrick's younger so no one will have preconceived notions about just how much range of motion and recovery he should have.

So he's been pinned? Kinda like being a human butterfly. ;)

Here's to a speedy recovery.
